Join me on an all-day painting trip to Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada. This interesting park is located on Highway 93, just two miles north of Panaca, NV. According to the park's own literature...
"The buff-colored cliffs and canyons of Cathedral Gorge, called the "Panaca Formation," are the remains of an ancient lake bed. Erosion from rainwater and melting snow carved rivulets in the siltstone and clay shale, eventually widening the cracks into gullies and canyons."
I will be giving a short lecture and a watercolor demonstration before lunch. After lunch you are free to explore the formations and then create your own work of art.
We will have a critique session beginning at 3:30 pm.
I hope you will join me for a great day of learning and painting.
Where: Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada.
When: Saturday, November 7th.
We will meet at 8:00 am at my studio in Dammeron Valley, UT. Directions and a map to my studio are available upon registration (by email).
Then we will carpool/caravan over to Nevada via Highway 18 (north), Highway 56 (west) - Highway 319 (west), and finally Highway 93 (north). We should reach the park by 9:30 am.
